MUED 520 Philosophical Foundations in Music Education

The purpose of this course is to engage students in the investigation of the historical and philosophical foundations of music education and, by doing so, to develop and enhance each student’s personal philosophy of music education.  Through course readings, discussion, projects and papers, students will identify important characteristics, movements, and trends within past and current educational practices and their implications on future teaching and learning.
