OCCU 626 Advocacy, Policy, and Practice Trends in OT
In this course, students will examine the different roles of an occupational therapist. Policy and practice trends will be explored in both knowledge and action. Advocacy will be examined, and students will have the opportunity to promote the profession, evaluate current and past policy, and practice the delivery of services for persons, groups, and populations. Students will educate consumers on the benefits and outcomes of occupational therapy services to maximize health, learning, participation, performance, and quality of life. Existing and potential future programs will be examined, and methods to obtain funding for services through grants will be discussed.
