NURS 413 Leadership in Nursing

The focus of this course is development of the leadership for entry level nursing practice with emphasis on the designer/manager/coordinator of care role. The concepts of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention are examined in relation to leadership and management principles applied in health care organizations and systems. Critical skills such as communication, collaboration, negotiation, delegation, coordination, evaluation of interdisciplinary work, and the application of outcome-based practice models are cultivated.
