ACCT 501 Managerial Accounting & Finance

This course focuses on the interpretation of financial information for making effective business decisions. Students will examine accounting and finance primarily from the perspective of the user (e.g., senior manager) of the information as opposed to the preparer (e.g., accountant). Topics of this course include financial theories for maximizing returns, financial statements, common financial analysis frameworks, ratios, financial modeling, cash flow analysis, asset management, liabilities, shareholder equity, investments, and valuations.

Undergraduate competency in accounting and finance or ACCT 141 and ACCT 242
