Institutional Review Board

Researchers who study social, behavioral, and physiological attributes of human beings are responsible for careful research design that values and respects their research participants. The role of the Institutional Review Board is to ensure protection of the rights, health, and privacy of individuals who participate in research that is conducted through Messiah University. Messiah is registered with and follows federal research guidelines from the Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP). It is concerned with minimizing risk for human subjects, adequate supervision of the research process, and informed consent. The IRB will not otherwise evaluate the research design or the importance of the research question.
