HLTH 832 Physiological Basis for Exercise Prescription

This course addresses strength and conditioning principles on how to properly load and progress patients across the spectrum. Additionally, the course includes how the microanatomy affects the
macro movements for correct neuromuscular reeducation/programming to achieve all musculoskeletal goals. The course takes an in-depth view of the layered complexities of global movements and muscular patterns and how to optimize the global movement to expeditiously mitigate the patient’s dysfunction. Exercise progressions will be discussed in detail to equip the practicing physical therapist to be more fluid in their approach to loading patients to achieve movement goals and to reduce the re-occurrence of injury.
