COUN 535 Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP)

Students will explore personal and professional issues of religion and spirituality as they pertain to clinical competency in professional counseling. Through study of Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP) training content designed by the credentialing organization of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), and readings designed to provide in-depth discussion of those terms and concepts, students will engage in experiential learning to conceptualize specific client issues within a spiritual lens. Students also have the opportunity to develop a spiritual counseling framework that will work within a respectful perspective of Christian and other faith traditions that may be held by the client.
