MUED 506 Wind and Percussion Pedagogy for the Orchestra Conductor
Wind and Percussion Pedagogy for the Orchestra Conductor is intended to provide vital pedagogical information to teachers who must communicate with string, wind and percussion players as part of their regular teaching duties. The course of study is designed to review the fundamental aspects of wind and percussion playing as well as address more advanced teaching techniques to enhance communication with woodwind, brass and percussion players performing with the orchestra. Course activities will include conceptual discussions regarding the role of the wind and percussion sections in the orchestra, as well as an active hands-on element for teachers to gain perspective on the physical challenges associated with meeting the music requirements of the repertoire.
