CIS 355 Network Security

Network security focuses on the prevention and monitoring of unauthorized access, misuse, modification, or denial of a computer network and network-accessed resources. As a follow up to the Data Communications and Networking course, students learn more about the vulnerabilities, risks, and attacks perpetrated on an organization's network and network resources and how to protect those resources. Topics include Internet security techniques and protocols, authentication, email security, encryption, web security, network management, firewalls, network security policies, and tools and techniques used by malicious network attackers.
