POLI 113 American Government

In this course, students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the institutions and forces that comprise and distinguish the U.S. political system. More than a “nuts and bolts” overview of how American government operates in the contemporary era, the course focuses primarily on the origins and historical development of U.S. political culture, governing institutions, and political life. By examining both continuities and critical changes in U.S. political history, students will acquire a deeper understanding and appreciation of contemporary American government and politics.
