SOAN 315 Urban Sociology

Survey of the spread of global urbanization from pre-industrial times until today. Emphasis placed on understanding urban life in different cultures and societies, with analysis of urban problems and possibilities in a broad range of countries. Attention will be given to the connection of urban and ecological systems and the policies and organizations moving cities to social, economic, and ecological justice.
