STAT 291 Probability and Statistics

Students will learn foundational topics in the disciplines of probability and statistics. Students will investigate a set of data graphically and numerically and calculate the probability of various outcomes using probability concepts and discrete and continuous probability distribution functions. These topics are combined to introduce inference where students learn to draw conclusions about populations based on data. Minitab is introduced as a tool for conducting basic data analysis. A scientific calculator with STAT mode is required.
