COUN 501 Professional Issues and Ethics for Counselors

This course examines the professional identity, roles, and responsibilities of counselors, with an emphasis on ethical and legal standards across diverse practice settings. Students will gain knowledge of professional ethical codes and develop ethical decision-making skills that integrate multicultural awareness, professional responsibility, and self-reflection. Through small group experiential learning, students develop and practice foundational counseling skills within ethically grounded helping relationships.
