IPEC 834 Advanced Research Methods II
This course strengthens doctoral students’ capacity to design and conduct sophisticated quantitative research addressing problems of practice across interprofessional fields. Students deepen skills in measurement, instrument development, reliability/validity testing, sampling, and data preparation. Advanced analytic approaches—such as generalized linear models, multilevel/hierarchical modeling, and quasi‑experimental designs are examined with attention to limits of causal inference. Equity, ethics, and culturally responsive measurement practices are emphasized. Mixed‑methods integration is addressed through approaches such as connecting quantitative findings to qualitative follow‑up (explanatory sequential) or merging strands via joint displays.
