OCCU 509 OT Process and Practice

This course expands on the OT process across evaluation, intervention, and outcomes, with an emphasis on simulation-based learning and competency-based assessment. Students will develop and demonstrate clinical reasoning skills by assessing, analyzing, and interpreting client data, making informed clinical decisions, and implementing evidence-based interventions. Through structured simulations, case studies, and hands-on practice, students will refine their ability to evaluate occupational performance, implement client-centered interventions, and measure outcomes effectively. The course also emphasizes clinical and professional reasoning, cultural humility, competence for practice, occupation-based practice, professionalism, and self-reflection. Competency-based assessments ensure that students can safely and effectively apply knowledge and skills in real-world OT scenarios.
