ENGR 454 Environmental Engineering II

This course is a study of the physical, chemical, and biological principles and unit processes for the treatment of municipal drinking water and wastewater. It covers the design and operation of integrated treatment systems for water supply and for wastewater management.  The processes governing the transport and fate of contaminants in the environment and their treatment are emphasized. Applications include design of processes to handle, treat, and safely dispose hazardous waste. The course will cover principles and design practices to control both particulate and gaseous contaminants to meet air quality regulations.
