Music (Music and Worship) (B.A.)

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates from Messiah’s Music and Worship program can:

  1. Analyze a significant work of music, employing relevant concepts of phrasal, harmonic and structural analysis
  2. Research a subject in the history of music by employing the major resources of music research, and engaging with those sources to create and support a scholarly argument.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency on a major instrument (or voice).
  4. Demonstrate an awareness of the various options for careers in music, as well as graduate school options, including requirements, procedures and expectations

MUSI 485: Writing in the major requirement.

MUAP 111: 2 credits required for the major. Students with a major applied area of voice may substitute these 2 credits of MUAP 111 with 2 additional credits of MUAP 165 and/or MUAP 168

MUAP 165 or 168: A total of four credits is required for the major.

MUCM 443: 3 credits of the practicum is required for the major.
