Acadeum Coursework
Messiah students have the option of enrolling in pre-approved online consortia courses from other four-year colleges and universities through Acadeum. Courses completed through the Acadeum agreement are considered Messiah University institutional credit.
Messiah helps facilitate the enrollment and billing process for Acadeum courses, however, students enrolled in Acadeum courses become students at the partnering institution (in addition to being a Messiah student) for the duration of the course and are subject to that institution's policies and procedures.
Messiah students have two options for how they can utilize Acadeum courses—meet a degree requirement that for mitigating reasons cannot be completed at Messiah and as enrichment in a topic that is not offered at Messiah. As part of the approval process for each student applicant, Messiah staff will make the final decision about which option is appropriate or acceptable. Additional fees may apply when enrolling in an online consortia course through Acadeum.
Students should work with their academic advisor, department chair and/or school dean if they are interested in utilizing online consortia courses.
If you are receiving federal financial aid for the summer term, it is vital to check with financial aid before dropping a course. Federal regulations could result in your owing the college if you withdraw from a course or fail to begin a course for which you have registered.
