ENGL 270 Critical Theory
This course explores how different critical approaches shape the experience of literary texts. Students examine, compare, and practice a wide variety of established critical approaches to literary study, such as theories of Formalism, Psychoanalysis, Marxism, Reader Response, Deconstruction, Cultural Studies, Post-colonialism, Gender, Race, and Disability, in order to understand better the role of the critic in producing knowledge and to develop their own critical capacities.
