ENGR 461 Communication Systems
Explore electronic communications systems with emphasis on digital and wireless techniques. Investigate the probablistic nature of information (entropy). Compare coding and modulation techniques including AM, FM and PM types. Account for signal energy, power, bandwidth as well as the impact of circuitry on signal-to-noise ratio and channel capacity. Assess how the information rate depends on bit error rate, error detection and correction techniques. Identify methods of information recovery. Use MATLAB as a tool for simulation.
