SOAN 356 Social Inequality

This course will provide students with an understanding of the social and historical contexts and the mechanisms which perpetuate prejudice, discrimination, and inequality in the United States and globally. This course prepares students to contemplate issues of advocacy in efforts to promote human rights, social justice, and economic justice with individuals, social systems, and structures. Topics will include race, gender, class, culture, religion, disabilities, sexual orientation, and other areas of marginalization.
