Majors and Minors

To accommodate a wide variety of student interests and career options the department offers four majors and three minors. The Department of Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science offers the following majors:

*The Applied Health Science B.S. with a concentration in Pre-Athletic Training is for students enrolled in the accelerated five-year MSAT program. Students not entering the graduate program must change concentrations to complete their Applied Health Science B.S. degree.

A lifestyle which includes regular physical activity and healthy, sustainable food choices reflects good stewardship of God’s creation and promotes health. Students completing majors in the Health Nutrition, and Exercise Science Department develop the knowledge and skills needed to help individuals and communities improve their health, primarily through physical activity and food choices.

Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science majors may be required to:

  1. Obtain and maintain the following: a physical examination, specified immunizations, current CPR/First Aid from approved organization, annual criminal history background checks, drug screening, and health insurance coverage.
  2. Provide own transportation for internships, clinicals, student teaching, and other experiences.
