NURS 504 Advanced Pharmacology

This course focuses on a study of the pharmacotherapeutics and pharmacokinetics of broad categories of pharmacologic agents. Emphasis is placed on pharmacologic mechanisms of action, effects on organ systems, routes of administration, therapeutic uses, considerations related to age and physiologic state, adverse reactions, contraindications, and drug interactions. Students in a Family Nurse Practitioner track must complete this course within 4.5 years of degree or certificate conferral, or the course must be repeated before graduation.
