COMM 205 Principles of Strategic Public Relations

Introduction to the nature, history, and current practice of strategic public relations, emphasizing appropriate communication practices for various publics and contexts including corporate, non-profit and government agencies. Focuses on the public relations strategic process of research, action planning, communication, and evaluation. Ethics, social media, media relations, and community relations are also discussed. Students create a personal ethics plan and conduct analyses of organizations’ social media and overall public relations practices.
