SPAN 203 Spanish for Healthcare Professionals

This course develops intermediate grammar, vocabulary and communication skills in Spanish for Health Care Professionals and expands knowledge of Hispanic culture. Students focus on subjunctive, command, conditional and future verb forms. The course is specifically designed for majors in Nursing, Pre-Med and other healthcare fields. The course prepares students to use Spanish in health-related fields. Through discussions and cultural readings, students explore Hispanic perceptions and values. This course prepares students to greet patients, perform a physical exam, discuss symptoms and treatments, and schedule appointments in a culturally appropriate manner.
