Chemistry Minor
A minor in chemistry is often pursued by students who must take a number of chemistry courses for their major. This typically includes engineering, physics, biology and biopsychology majors. With the addition of a few extra courses, students can develop additional chemistry knowledge, and laboratory skills.
(23-24 credits)
Complete the following for your minor:
**Seven to eight credits CHEM courses approved for the Chemistry Major (7-8)
Note: CHEM 410 and CHEM 412 cannot be counted in both the Biology Major or Molecular Biology Major and the Chemistry Minor. CHEM 240 cannot be counted in both Environmental Science Major and Chemistry Minor. SCIE 495 cannot count towards Chemistry Minor. Majors in the Biology Department are required to take two additional courses after organic to earn this minor, which could result in up to 16 credits of overlap with the student's major. This an exception to the institutional credit overlap policy for Biology Department majors with this minor.
**Certain courses within this range may require additional prerequisites, which would increase the total credits required for the minor.
