EDME 547 Learning In English and Learning English

This course examines theories and research related to the acquisition of English as a second language in K-12 school contexts, considering faith implications in educating English learners (ELs). Students will learn principles and strategies for helping ELs to both learn academic content and acquire the English language within the context of the mainstream classroom. The overall objective of the course is to give students a firm grounding in how ELs learn both language and content in K-12 education, preparing them to implement this learning in the subsequent course, EDME 548.
