OCCU 623 Administration, Management & Leadership for Ethical OT Practice

This course emphasizes the OT's role as a leader and manager who models ethical behaviors, fostering an environment and culture of integrated ethics across a variety of service delivery systems.  An effective leader's qualities are examined, including the essential skills of planning, organizing, leading, and performing outcome evaluations.  Understanding of health care policy and how it affects reimbursement and delivery of services will be addressed. Emphasis will be placed on the essential professional skills required to synthesize legislation, policy, quality improvement, and advocacy as an occupational therapy practitioner and leader.
