NURS 414 Population and Global Health

This course prepares students to define, assess, and manage population health through health promotion and risk reduction strategies at the primordial, primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. Through social justice, cultural humility, and multiple determinants of health lenses, students will consider the socioeconomic, political, cultural, ethical, environmental, and moral impact of health care delivery nationally and globally. Students will explore the impact of health policies on diversity and health equity and engage in interprofessional and community partnerships to improve health for prioritized populations. Students will analyze epidemiological and population health data to develop an action plan to meet an identified need.
