NURS 492 Senior Nursing Capstone

This senior capstone course ensures that students engage in critical thinking about the philosophical and ethical assumptions of the Christian vocation of nursing to synthesize theoretical knowledge, clinical skills, and professional role behaviors in an experiential practicum setting. A variety of current professional issues are examined with emphasis on preparing for the transition to professional practice, engaging in continued professional development, promoting excellence in nursing practice, and complying with legal and ethical guidelines. Students will focus upon the development of clinical decision-making skills, and refinement of clinical coordinating behaviors in a variety of settings in collaboration with clinical nurse preceptors.
