COMM 321 Global Indigenous Cinema
This course looks closely at the film productions of members of groups known today under categorizations such as 'aboriginal' and 'indigenous.' The course explores cinema and theory relating to ethnographic and collaborative works produced by ethnographic filmmakers alongside aboriginal communities. It also examines films produced independently by indigenous cultures from around the globe, in hopes of seeing commonalities and differences in them, as well as the ways their cultures have affected their production and storytelling techniques.
