EDME 585 Capstone in Educational Leadership

This capstone course, which includes field hours required for principal certification, provides individualized faculty mentorship as students complete a culminating project aligned with their professional goals. Students select one of two pathways. In the Thesis option, students conduct a research investigation in their field of study, receiving guidance through topic development, IRB preparation (if applicable), data collection and analysis, and the writing and presentation of a formal thesis. In the Project option, students design and develop an applied professional resource that addresses a demonstrated need in their field, progressing from problem identification to project creation and presentation. Field hours support leadership practice, contextual inquiry, and the development of the final capstone product in either pathway.
