ENGL 365 Young Adult Literature

This course examines the ongoing formation and development of diverse young adult literary forms, including realist novels, fantasy, science fiction, verse novels, and graphic novels. This course emphasizes a chronological history of the young adult genre, and invites students to respond the literary texts from the perspective of educators, scholars, and creative writers. The course may include authors such as Madeline L’Engle, Harper Lee, S.E. Hinton, Walter Dean Myers, Jacqueline Woodson, Gene Luen Yang, and Angie Thomas.
