SOWK 515 Diversity and Social Justice

This course emphasizes an intersectional understanding of the impact of diverse identities on the human experience of oppression and discrimination, the systemic nature of oppression, power, and privilege, and the responsibility of the social work profession to engage in the promotion of social, racial, economic, and environmental justice and human rights. The concepts of cultural humility and ADEI (Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) are considered and applied to all levels of social work practice.
