SOWK 540 Generalist Social Work Practice with Individuals

This course in the generalist practice series is designed to introduce students to the philosophy and characteristics of helping relationships within the generalist framework (engagement, assessment, intervention, termination, and evaluation) in social work. It introduces basic relationship building, communication, social work principles, values, and ethics, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills for use with any client system (individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities), but has a primary focus on working with diverse individuals within a social context and in interprofessional collaboration.
