OCCU 501 Foundations of Occupational Therapy

This course introduces students to the occupational therapy profession, including basic tenants, historical and philosophical foundations, code of ethics, professional responsibilities, and core values. Students will explore how legislation, policies, and regulations impact service delivery.  Occupational therapy theories and models of practice that inform the occupational therapy process will be applied to diverse clients. This course will also discuss the many different traditional and non-traditional practice settings OTs work in, and team members they may work with.
