POLI 310 American Political Thought

In this course, students will examine the Lockean (or classic liberal) political culture of the United States, particularly its foundation, variations, evolution, and interaction with competing, non-liberal cultural traditions. Students focus especially on how faith and the quest for greater freedom, equality, and justice have contributed to the evolution of the liberal tradition in the United States.
