ENGL 111 Workshop: Critical Reading and Writing

Students develop skills in ethical and effective writing through the critical processes of thinking, reading, research, and drafting. This course emphasizes academic inquiry, rhetorical knowledge, argumentation, conventions, and collaboration to support student writing in diverse academic, public, and digital genres. Taken in conjunction with ENGL 110, this workshop supports students to make progress on ENGL 110 writing projects with direct support from the instructor; participate with peers in collaborative reading, writing, and research workshops designed by the instructor; identify and make progress on individual writing needs, skills, and goals with instructor; and reflect on their learning and development as college writers.
