NURS 703 Advanced Family Nursing Practice of Adults II

This course expands on adult assessment concepts, emphasizing the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions commonly encountered in primary healthcare settings. Students will apply advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, health assessment, diagnostics, and differential diagnosis to guide clinical decision-making based on evidence-based practice guidelines. Using a systems approach, the course highlights chronic care management, health promotion, disease prevention, and restorative/supportive care. During clinical practicum hours students will increase independence in history-taking and physical assessment skills. Additionally, students will develop a participatory approach to care, while exploring concepts of care coordination, professional accountability, conflict resolution, and leadership within interprofessional teams. Prerequisite: NURS 701. Corequisite: NURS 703C. (5 credits, 3 credits theory, 2 credits clinical = 120 hours)
