NURS 709 Advanced Family Nursing Practice for Women's Health
This course expands on women’s health assessment concepts, emphasizing the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions commonly encountered in primary healthcare settings. Students will apply advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, health assessment, diagnostics, and differential diagnosis to guide clinical decision-making based on evidence-based practice guidelines. Using a systems approach, the course highlights chronic care management, health promotion, disease prevention, and restorative/supportive care. Students will examine the impact of social determinants of health and advocate for policies to reduce healthcare disparities in vulnerable women. Clinical practicum hours focus on assessing and managing women’s health needs across the lifespan. Prerequisite/Corequisite:
