NURS 701 Advanced Family Nursing Practice of Adults I

This course expands on adult assessment concepts, emphasizing the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions commonly encountered in primary healthcare settings. Students will apply advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, health assessment, diagnostics, and differential diagnosis to guide clinical decision-making based on evidence-based practice guidelines. Using a systems approach, the course highlights chronic care management, health promotion, disease prevention, and restorative/supportive care. During clinical practicum hours, students participate in hands-on experience in history-taking and physical assessment, while fostering communication strategies to build professional relationships and promote interprofessional collaboration. Prerequisite: NURS 601. Corequisite: NURS 701C. (5 credits, 3 credits theory, 2 credits clinical = 120 hours)
