HIST 205 Ancient Greek World

The Ancient Greek world has profoundly influenced the political, social, and cultural ideals and values of western societies. Students explore the diversity and historical developments of the Greeks from prehistoric times to the Hellenistic age and learn to analyze ancient sources to interpret the past. Topics include the Trojan War and Bronze Age Civilizations, the emergence of the city state, Athenian democracy, the Peloponnesian war, and classical philosophy, drama, mythology, art, and architecture.
