HIST 272 World History since 1500 CE

Students examine the varied, complex, and rich histories of the human experience across the globe since 1500 CE. Explore the intercultural history of the planet that produced new patterns of order and interaction that have generated the transformative motors of world history, including the growth of capitalism, European Imperial formations, the cultures of colonialism, modernity and Globalization, and the condition of postmodernity. Students engage content from the Global South in ways that enhance intercultural literacy, self-awareness, and the possibilities for reconciliation in the midst of planetary wear and tear.
