NURS 504 Advanced Pharmacology

This course provides the knowledge and skills to pharmacologically manage a patient's health problems in a safe, high quality, and cost-effective manner. Emphasis is on the development of therapeutic decision-making in drug selection for the patient based on health problems, individual variations, and economic considerations. Focus is on prescriptive practice, client education, and monitoring therapeutic response to pharmacological agents in diverse clients across the lifespan. Students in a Family Nurse Practitioner track must complete this course within 4.5 years of degree or certificate conferral, or the course must be repeated before graduation.
