NURS 590 MSN Capstone

This course provides students with the opportunity to integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired throughout their graduate program, including connections to faith, to address a relevant issue in healthcare or nursing practice, using evidence-based approaches to improve patient outcomes, clinical practices, healthcare systems, or nursing education. With close faculty advisement, students will identify a pertinent clinical/educational issue, conduct a thorough literature review, design an intervention, improvement plan, or scholarly project, evaluate its impact, and disseminate outcomes. Emphasizing leadership and professional role development, critical thinking, and communication skills, the capstone experience prepares students for advanced roles in nursing practice, education, or healthcare leadership. Prerequisite: NURS 550 or NURS 551. (3 credits - 180 clinical hours).
